Duration: 11
Starts: Darwin
Finishes: Adelaide
Welcome to Darwin, the gateway to the unique natural wonders of Australia's Northern Territory.
This multicultural, fast-developing city lies nearer to Singapore than Sydney, which gives you an idea of the sheer size of Australia. Darwin’s chilled-out feel and beautiful climate are a welcome introduction to this incredible land.
Between cyclones and bombing by the Japanese in World War Two, Darwin has been rebuilt several times in its history. While the architecture is modern and stylish, it’s still very much a “frontier town” with a small-town feel.
Settle in and unwind with a stroll along the esplanade and sample local cuisine in one of the fabulous restaurants at the Waterfront. Relax and see a movie at the outdoor Deckchair Cinema, catch the sunset over the Timor Sea, or try street food at the Mindil Beach Markets. You’ll feel like a laid-back local in no time.
1 night at Hilton Darwin
Take a scenic air charter to Bamurru Plains
From the sensation of lift-off, to the excitement of soaring above the twists and turns of the Adelaide River, your charter flight to Bamurru Plains is a unique and spectacular 30 minute experience. Bamurru Plains
Your home for the next two nights is the exclusive Bamurru Plains resort on the edge of Kakadu National Park. Your luxurious safari-style bungalow overlooks the never-ending floodplain and with mesh walls on three sides you can hear, see and almost touch the wildlife around you.

Explore the Wilderness
The Bamurru Plains resort is so large that there are four distinct habitats – vast floodplains; stunning melaleuca forests; savannah woodlands populated by buffalo, dingos and wallabies; and finally a riverine environment where the silver flashes of fish or sunbathing crocs will catch your eye as you cruise slowly by.
Immerse yourself in the magic of the Top End with some of the optional activities on offer. Unravel the mysteries of the floodplains on a guided bushwalk, or embark on a wildlife-spotting expedition in an open-topped 4WD.
You could take an airboat ride and search the waters for nearby crocodiles or try quad-biking around the extensive property. However you choose to spend your day, it’s impossible to remain unchanged by this remote and beautiful wilderness.
After returning by air to Darwin, fly to Australia's Red Centre

Darwin is very different from the other state capitals. It’s more like a rural city with an outback atmosphere that’s very laidback. There are no skyscrapers. Because it is so close to Indonesia, the Asian influences are very noticeable. Darwin is green and lush with palms and the perfume of frangipanis. It has a tropical climate, and therefore not four seasons but only two, wet and dry. Wet season lasts from November until April and the dry season from May until October, which is also the busiest time for Darwin’s tourism. Darwin attractions include museums, parks, the Mindil Beach sunset markets, art galleries, beaches and historic buildings. Darwin is the base for Kakadu and Litchfield national parks.
Home to three active volcanic mountains, and iconic and majestic landscapes, Tongariro National Park has attracted adventurers of all ages since 1887.
With wide-open spaces, some of the best hikes in the world and must-see natural wonders, Tongariro National Park is the perfect destination for families, couples and explorers seeking adventure, fun and an escape into nature.
The villages of National Park, Whakapapa, Raurimu and Erua lie at the heart of this volcanic wonderland. They offer a choice of accommodation to suit all styles and budgets from family-friendly units to backpacker hostels to luxury suites and boutique lodges. You will also find an exceptional range of places to eat and drink, exciting activities and essential services. Everything you need to stay and play at New Zealand’s first National Park.
Uluru / Ayers Rock is Australia’s most recognisable natural icon. Standing 348 metres high, the monolith has a great cultural significance for the traditional Aboriginal owners, the Anangu people.
Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park is located 440 kilometres by road south-west of Alice Springs and encompasses both Uluru and the 36 domes of Kata Tjuta (The Olgas), both dating back hundreds of million of years. Visitors to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park can also browse through the informative and award-winning Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre.

Think of an island seven times the size of Singapore. Think of native bushland, wildlife and pristine beaches. Think of adventure and days of exploring. Think of beach houses, local wines and sunsets. You’re thinking of Kangaroo Island, a brilliant blend of nature and adventure. Kangaroo Island is a true wildlife sanctuary. Thanks to its isolation from the mainland, the island has suffered less from the impact of European settlement and retains more than half of its native ‘old-growth’ vegetation.
