Nested 30 feet (9 meters) up amidst a canopy of native Manuka grove is Hapuku Tree Houses, offering spectacular views over Kaikoura’s dramatic coastline. Each tree house has been designed to complement the natural environment, made from native woods and copper shingles.

Key Features
  • Tree Houses are unique, nested 10 meters or more above the ground in the canopy of a native Kanuka grove. They are warm & inviting with deep soaking tubs, fireplaces and our custom made furniture
  • The area in which the Lodge is located was designated on the first European maps of the district as “Kai Whare”, the Maori term for “house of food”.  Here you can watch the food being prepared and chat with our chefs as they prepare your meal.
  • National Geographic has called Kaikoura “A maritime Serengeti” and “a Sea World without Walls”. As a consequence, there is a lot to see and do, both on land and at sea.
